It has been learned that the Malabar Collector intends to request the Madras Railway Company to relocate the out agency* currently situated at Mattancherry to a location near the customs station.

To celebrate the arrival of the Prince and his wife, the municipal officials in Kochi have arranged for a sweetmeat feast for the children at the school on January 24, along with other necessary preparations.

Most of the high officials of the Cochin Government have travelled to Madras to mark the occasion of the Prince's arrival.

A few days ago, a significant riot occurred between members of the Ezhava and the Pulaya communities in Kochi state. The dispute originated from the Pulayas constructing a temple for their worship. Allegedly, Ezhavas forcefully entered the temple, took possession of it, and claimed it as their own. This resulted in physical altercations, with the Pulayas assaulting the priests and some Ezhavas. Additionally, it is reported that local Christians aided the Pulayas during the incident. Regrettably, the temple was intentionally set on fire and destroyed as part of the turmoil.

Recently, the Malabar Collector visited Kochi to investigate a case involving a merchant constructing a wall on a piece of land owned by the British Kochi government. The decision has been made to demolish the wall. Similar cases involving European merchants have been forwarded to the Board of Revenue for further review.

Oduvil Kunju Krishna Menon, B.A., the treasury accountant at Trichur Taluk, has been temporarily appointed as the Head Clerk of the Northern Division Peshkar.

Mr. Shankara Menon, the Peshkar of the South Division, has taken a leave of three months and 10 days starting from Makaram 5 (mid-January). During his absence, Mr. Shanku Wariyar will assume his responsibilities.

The Kochi Commercial Agency, which was discontinued thirty years ago, has been reinstated. Mr. K. Narayana Rayar, former agent of the Best and Company in Ernakulam, has been appointed as the commercial agent by the Dewan.

Mr. Venkateswara Iyer, the Tehsildar of Kanayanur, has been granted a three-month leave of absence.
