ചിറയിന്‍കീഴിലെ അനാഥസ്ഥിതിയെപ്പറ്റി മറ്റൊരു പംക്തിയില്‍ ചേര്‍ത്തിട്ടുള്ള ലേഖനത്തില്‍ പറയുന്ന ഒരു മരണ സംഗതി, ഗവര്‍ന്മേണ്ടിന്‍റെ ഗൌരവപ്പെട്ട ശ്രദ്ധയെ ആകര്‍ഷിക്കുമെന്ന് ഞങ്ങള്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മേല്പടി താലൂക്കില്‍ വളരെ മാസകാലമായി അടിക്കടി ഉണ്ടായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ലഹളകളും കൊലപാതകങ്ങളും, ഗവര്‍ന്മേണ്ടിന്‍റെ ദൃഷ്ടികളെ ഇനിയും തുറന്നിട്ടില്ലെങ്കില്‍ അതു വളരെ പരിതാപകരമായ അവസ്ഥതന്നെയാകുന്നു. ശിക്ഷാ നിയമത്തിന്‍റെയും നടവടിയുടേയും ഗന്ധലേശം കൊണ്ടുമാത്രം മജിസ്തീരിയല്‍ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ നിര്‍വഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ മതിയെന്നാണ് ഗവര്‍ന്മേണ്ട് കരുതുന്നതെങ്കില്‍, അത് പ്രജകളില്‍ ഒരു വിഭാഗത്തിന്‍റെനേര്‍ക്ക് ഗവര്‍ന്മേണ്ടിനാല്‍ ചെയ്യപ്പെടാവുന്ന ഭീമമായ അധര്‍മ്മമെന്ന് അറിയേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. ഒരു യുവാവു് വെട്ടേറ്റ് വളരെനേരം അര്‍ദ്ധപ്രാണനായി കിടന്നിട്ടും, മരിക്കാറായിക്കിടന്ന ആ യുവാവിന്‍റെ മരണവാമൊഴി വാങ്ങാനോ, അക്കേസ്സിനെ അവന്‍റെ മരണത്തിന്‍മുമ്പ് ചെന്ന് അറിവാനോ പൊലീസ് ഇന്‍സ്പക്‍ടറൊ മജിസ്ട്രേറ്റോ ഒരു താലൂക്കിലില്ലെന്നു വരുന്നത്, ഗവര്‍ന്മേണ്ടിന് ഒരു പ്രകാരത്തിലും യോഗ്യമായിരിക്കയില്ലാ. ഇന്‍സ്പക്‍ടര്‍ ******
Sad state of affairs

We believe that a death related case mentioned in the article appended in another column about the situation in Chirayankeezhu will attract serious attention from the Government. It is a very sad situation that the frequent riots and murders in the aforementioned taluk* for many months now have not yet been enough to attract the attention of the government. The
government should realise that it is a grave injustice against a section of its people if it thinks that carrying out the magisterial actions alone under the threat of the penal law and procedure is enough.
It is quite unbecoming of a government, in every sense, that there was no police inspector or a magistrate available in the taluk to take the death statement of a young man who was hacked and lay dying for a long time or to inquire about the case before his death.
